I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to to Kill You by Ally Carter gets 4 out of 5 Stars in my book review of this book, the first in the Gallagher Girl Series. A fun light read for Teens, Young Adults (YAs) and those that love YA books. Realistic Fiction about a girl that has power. Alohamora Open a Book http://alohamoraopenabook.blogspot.com/

Happy New Year!  Why not start the new year off great and begin by reading a great book.  I have loads of books you can read no matter what your age or interests.  Just check out my books page, use the labels on the right, or use the search feature.  Reading is great no matter your age, and we can all benefit from reading a really great book.

I had a friend that read a book every week last year; I was thoroughly impressed.   She kept us all along for the ride and enjoying the books she was reading by posting them on Instagram.  It really was fun and quite impressive.  Not everyone could keep that up for 52 weeks straight.

Now you may not be a book-aholic and wanting to read a book every weekend, but you can read a great book this year.

If you are a fan of Meg Cabot books like Size 12 is Not Fat or you love Lockhart's book, The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks then you will be a big fan of Ally Carter's Gallagher Girl Series.

I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You is the first in the series by Ally Carter, and it received 4 out of 5 stars in my book review.

It's a fun realistic fiction book with girl power that will have teenage girls loving it as they devour the pages. The Gallagher Girls are super smart, training to be spies and can do amazing things already, they're really nice, and are pretty on top of it all.  They really have it all, and most girls will read this book wishing they could be just like one of these characters..

This book is a fun fast read, and you can fly through the series.  It received only 4 out of 5 stars in my book review b/c it was just that, a fun read.  The writing wasn't exceptional in any way, and you weren't invested in the characters at all.

This book is perfect if you want a light fun read, but I do think the writing and character development could've been better.

However, I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You is a clean read in all aspects; there is no language, sex, or violence of any kind which is more rare in YA books these days and worth a read just for that almost..

Amazon had the following book review

"Cammie Morgan, 15, is a student at Gallagher Academy, a top-secret boarding school for girls who are spies-in-training. She studies covert operations, culture and assimilation, and advanced encryption, and has learned to speak 14 languages. Her troubles begin when she falls for Josh, a local boy who has no clue about her real identity. Keeping her training secret forces her to lie to her new love, which leads to comic complications. Subplots include Cammie's relationship with her mother–the headmistress at Gallagher–and her grief over the loss of her father, who died while on a spying assignment. The teen's double life leads to some amusing one-liners, and the invented history of the Gallagher Girls is also entertaining, but the story is short on suspense. The stakes never seem very high since there are no real villains, and the cutesy dialogue quickly becomes grating. However, the novel has been optioned for a film and will likely attract readers who enjoy lighthearted, frothy tales and squeaky-clean romances."

Have you read this book and/or series?  What did you think?

Happy clean light hearted teen read
