Paulette the Pinkest Puppy in the World gets 4 Stars

Paulette the Pinkest Puppy in the World gets 4 out of 5 stars in my book review. A fun book about being an individual; a fun book any toddler, preschool, kindergartner, or First grade girl. Girls that love pink and/or dogs will LOVE this book. It's a fun read aloud for parents, teachers and librarians as well. Alohamora Open a Book http://www.alohamoraopenabook.blogspot.com/

Yesterday was my eldest daughter's birthday; she is now 4 years old.  It's kind of crazy to think that 4 years ago this little girl came into the world on a Friday the 13th, but she's been anything but nightmarish.  My daughter truly is a good good girl with one of the kindest sweetest hearts I know.  Sure, she has her not so stellar moments aka toddler like moments, but she really is a huge blessing in our lives.

When she turned 1, my daughter picked If You Give a Mouse a Cookie for her birthday book.  It was perfect for her b/c she loved cookies.

This year, my daughter has picked Paulette the Pinkest Puppy in the World by Tim Bugbird for her  birthday book.  It's the perfect book for a toddler girl that loves pink; if your child also loves dogs than it is exceptionally perfect.

My daughter picked this book b/c it is pink and has an adorable picture of a pink dog on it.  She also picked this book b/c our paperback version came with a cute little heart necklace that as the girly girl she is she completely adores it.  Well done publisher including the necklace to solidify the book selection by a child.

I give Paulette 4 out of 5 stars.  It's a cute book with good rhythm and fun pictures.  It also has a good message about learning to love who you are, your individualism, and your own strengths rather than hiding or wanting to be like everyone else.  It's a book that my daughter thoroughly enjoys.  However, it did lose a star b/c the writing isn't as stellar as I'd expect/hope for from a published book.  At times it feels a bit choppy and disrupts the rhythm.

All in all, Paulette is a good book, just not quite a 5 star book.  Though, it is up there with Fancy Nancy and Pinkalicious attracting girl readers.

For your convenience, Amazon had the following book description

"A charming story about Paulette the pinkest puppy, who learns to celebrate the things that make her unique!

Paulette the Pinkest Puppy is the heart-warming tale of Paulette the puppy, who is born with a very unusual feature – her fur is completely pink! Paulette struggles with being different until she and her puppy friends realize they have more in common than they thought. "

Have you read this book?  What did you think? Most importantly, what did your child think?

Happy Paulette the Pink Puppy reading!
